Othello | Act 5 | said by Othello

Act V Quotes

Othello

“Yet she must die, else she’ll betray more men put out the light, and then put out the light.”

Othello thinks Desdemona has betrayed him with Cassio. Othello is going to smother her because if he keeps her alive she will cheat on other men. He is going to put out the candle light and then he is going to put out the light in Desdemona’s heart.

“When I have plucked the rose, I cannot give it vital growth again.”

Othello says this as refers to Desdemona; when I have plucked this rose, I can’t make grow again. When Othello has killed Desdemona, he cannot make her relive.
